Both teams sit near the top of the AL Central, with the White Sox at 62-57 holding a narrow lead over the Tigers at 59-61 entering their August 14 matchup at Comerica Park. Chicago’s stronger overall record and recent series history give traders reason to view them as slight favorites on the road, though Detroit’s home performance and pitching staff provide meaningful counterbalance in this tight division race. The White Sox recently placed catcher Joey Bart on the injured list, potentially affecting lineup depth, while both clubs continue jockeying for playoff positioning with limited recent head-to-head dominance either way. Schedule factors like rest and travel remain secondary to current form and roster health in shaping implied probabilities.
