Maximilian Marterer holds a 2-0 head-to-head edge over Benjamin Hassan on clay, including a straight-sets semifinal win at the 2024 Bonn Challenger, though both players now compete primarily at lower-tier events with Marterer ranked near 746 after a career-high of 45 and Hassan at 514. The Augsburg Challenger qualifying match on red clay favors the German veteran’s experience and prior dominance in similar conditions, yet Hassan enters with stronger recent momentum after multiple clay-court wins at the Sion Challenger the prior week. Marterer’s 2026 results show inconsistency across ITF and Challenger stops, while Hassan’s improved win rate on the surface this season narrows the gap despite the historical record.
