This market will resolve to "Yes" if the 2026 US Midterm Elections happen on November 3, 2026. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the US government, however a consensus of credible reporting will also be used. The constitutional mandate and federal statutes fixing Election Day for the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of even-numbered years anchor the near-certain trader consensus that the 2026 midterms will proceed on schedule. No unilateral presidential authority exists to alter this timeline, and historical precedent shows elections held through major crises. Recent statements suggesting postponement have been characterized by officials and analysts as non-binding, with state and local administrators confirming preparations continue uninterrupted. While an act of Congress could theoretically shift dates during an extraordinary emergency, such action remains improbable given institutional checks and the absence of supporting conditions as of mid-August 2026. Late developments like severe national disruption could theoretically test this framework, but structural requirements make deviation highly unlikely.
