Kenta Miyoshi faces Mert Alkaya in the round of 16 at the 2026 Istanbul 2 ATP Challenger on hard courts, their first career meeting. Alkaya, the higher-ranked player near world No. 299 with a career-high of 298, holds home-country advantage as a Turkish competitor in a local event. Miyoshi, ranked around No. 525 after turning pro following a standout Illinois college career that included Big Ten Player of the Year honors and multiple ranked wins, enters with strong recent momentum, including a six-match winning streak and solid hard-court results. Recent form shows Alkaya with a mixed 5-5 record over his last 10 outings, while Miyoshi has posted consistent victories on the Challenger and ITF circuits. Surface familiarity and ranking edge support Alkaya in trader pricing, though Miyoshi’s transition success and return pressure could narrow the gap on this neutral hard-court matchup.
