This market will resolve to "Yes" if the Art Basel and UBS Global Art Market Report covering 2026 ranks China as #2 in total art market sales. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". For the purposes of this market, total art market sales refers to both dealer and auction segments. If China is tied with another country for second greatest total art market sales, this market will resolve to "Yes". This market will resolve according to the annual Art Basel and UBS Global Art Market Report covering the 2026 calendar year. If no such report is released by March 31, 2027, 11:59PM ET, this market will resolve to "No".China's art market has remained firmly in third place behind the US and UK, with 2025 sales reaching just $8.5 billion for a 14% global share according to the Art Basel and UBS report, reflecting only modest 1% growth amid ongoing real estate pressures and subdued collector confidence. The UK held steady at second with $10.5 billion and an 18% share, supported by stronger public auction activity, while the US consolidated its lead at 44%. Domestic Mainland China auctions have shown some stabilization through local buyers, yet Hong Kong's international segment contracted, and broader economic headwinds limit upside momentum. With 2026 data still developing and no major catalysts signaling a rapid overtake, trader consensus heavily favors the status quo through year-end.
