Joe Pyfer’s emphatic second-round TKO of Israel Adesanya in March vaulted the middleweight into the top seven, yet the absence of a confirmed opponent since leaves his next matchup fluid. A scheduled August clash with Caio Borralho collapsed due to the Brazilian’s rib injury, reopening options across a crowded 185-pound division. Traders see comparable paths for Dricus du Plessis, Brendan Allen, Nassourdine Imavov, Borralho, and Anthony Hernandez because each sits in the immediate contender tier with recent wins or strong records that align with UFC matchmaking timelines. The even distribution reflects uncertainty over whether the promotion will prioritize veteran tests, stylistic matchups, or ranking climbs before Pyfer’s next outing.
