The Federal Reserve held the funds rate at 3.50–3.75% in July with hawkish dissent, while the 10-year Treasury yield hovers near 4.6–4.7% and longer-term yields test multi-year highs, compressing multiples in rate-sensitive sectors. Key near-term catalysts include the August 26 PCE release, Nvidia earnings, Chair Warsh’s Jackson Hole remarks on August 28, and the September FOMC meeting, which will shape market-implied odds for year-end levels amid uncertainty over whether earnings breadth can offset policy and geopolitical risks.
