The Miami Marlins (60-59) enter the August 11 matchup against the Pittsburgh Pirates (58-62) with a modest edge driven by their stronger home record (36-24) at loanDepot park compared to Pittsburgh’s 28-32 road mark. Both clubs sit near .500 and hover around NL wild-card positioning, but recent roster developments tilt toward Miami. The Pirates have leaned heavily on bullpen games after placing ace Mitch Keller on the 60-day injured list with a right arm injury and dealing with absences including OF Ryan O’Hearn (quad) and others. Marlins pitching injuries persist but their overall form and home splits have supported trader consensus around their implied probability in this series opener. Schedule rest, divisional implications, and late-August bullpen depth remain key variables that could still shift outcomes.
