Knife kills remain exceptionally rare in professional CS2 due to the dominance of rifles, utilities, and positioning at the highest level, with pros favoring safer engagements over risky melee plays. The EWC 2026 main event, featuring 32 teams in a Paris-based group stage and single-elimination playoffs starting August 12, follows patterns from prior majors and S-tier events where totals typically stay low across dozens of maps. Trader consensus around the 4-6 range or Other reflects this scarcity, bolstered by occasional highlight-reel instances from stars but offset by the event's scale and defensive meta. No major roster or format changes have altered expected aggression levels heading into qualifiers.

A knife kill is any kill credited in-game to a player using the knife (melee) against an opponent. Kills made with any other weapon, including the Zeus x27 taser, do not count. Every knife kill in every completed official map of the event counts individually toward the total.
Only maps played in the 32-team main event count, including both the group stage and the playoffs. Maps played in the Open Qualifiers, the Last Chance Qualifier, or any showmatch do not count.
The market resolves to the single range containing the final total number of knife kills at the conclusion of the event.
If the Counter-Strike 2 tournament at EWC 2026 is cancelled, or is not completed such that its results are not determined by September 6, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other."
The resolution source for this market will be official information from HLTV (https://www.hltv.org); however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
