The resolution source for this market will be official information from the tournament organizer, FIDE (https://chessolympiad2026.fide.com/); however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.India, Uzbekistan, the United States, and China dominate trader consensus for the 46th FIDE Chess Olympiad Open section in Samarkand, reflecting their superior average ratings and recent medal pedigrees. India enters as defending champions with exceptional depth across Gukesh, Praggnanandhaa, Erigaisi, and Vidit, though the historical difficulty of repeating adds slight pressure. Uzbekistan benefits from home-soil hosting duties plus a rising core including Abdusattorov and Sindarov, whose form aligns with national momentum. The American squad fields one of the highest-rated lineups historically with Caruana, Nakamura, and Aronian providing consistent board strength, while China rebuilds around Wei Yi amid ongoing roster transitions. Multiple contenders with comparable peak ratings and no single dominant side keep the implied probabilities tightly bunched in a Swiss-system format where match results and tiebreaks can shift rapidly.
