Emma Navarro enters the 2026 US Open first round as the clear favorite against Lois Boisson, backed by her No. 26 seeding, superior ranking, and stronger hard-court experience. The American has compiled a 20-17 record this season with a Strasbourg title, though she exited early in recent North American swing events. Boisson, a 2025 Roland Garros semifinalist now ranked No. 236 on a protected ranking, arrives with significant fitness concerns after retiring from her Philadelphia event with a foot injury and posting just four wins in 14 matches. Their only prior meeting ended with a Navarro victory via retirement on hard courts. Home support and rest advantage further tilt conditions toward the higher-ranked player in this Grandstand matchup.
