The Detroit Tigers (56-59) enter the series at Oracle Park with a stronger overall record and recent form than the San Francisco Giants (48-67), who sit near the bottom of the NL West. The Tigers have gone 6-4 in their last 10 games compared to the Giants' 4-6 mark, with Detroit posting solid offensive output while the Giants have struggled to score consistently. Hosting provides the Giants a home-field edge in a pitcher-friendly ballpark, though their roster has been thinned by injuries including Harrison Bader on the 10-day IL. The matchup features right-hander Keider Montero for Detroit against an undecided San Francisco starter, with both clubs focused on building momentum during the late-summer stretch.
