The Detroit Tigers (60-64) visit the Pittsburgh Pirates (61-65) for a mid-August series at PNC Park, with both clubs sitting near .480 winning percentage and well out of playoff contention in their respective divisions. Detroit enters on a skid and with significant outfield attrition, including multiple players on the injured list such as Parker Meadows, James Outman, Kerry Carpenter, and Matt Vierling, plus recent additions like Jack Flaherty to the IL. Pittsburgh’s own roster features absences, including starter Mitch Keller, yet benefits from home-field factors in what projects as a closely contested matchup. Recent interleague results and bullpen availability will shape lineups, while probable starters and any last-minute roster moves remain key variables for game-day resolution.
