Ryuki Matsuda holds the clear edge entering this ITF M25 Taipei hard-court encounter as the higher-ranked player (around No. 783) with greater ITF experience and a 1-0 head-to-head lead, including a straight-sets 6-3 6-1 victory over Hou in the same event in 2025. The 26-year-old Japanese player has compiled a solid hard-court record across recent seasons despite a mixed 2026 win-loss mark, while 20-year-old local Hou sits much lower in the rankings (near No. 1578) with a limited pro resume but a strong 10-4 hard-court showing earlier in 2026. Home-crowd support and recent qualifying form give Hou upset potential on this surface, yet Matsuda’s superior consistency and prior dominance in Taipei shape the prevailing trader consensus.
