Johan Nikles enters the Como Challenger qualifying round as the clear market favorite against Lorenzo Rottoli, reflecting his superior ranking near 417, stronger clay-court record, and recent results. Nikles defeated Rottoli in straight-sets winning fashion in their sole prior meeting at the July 2026 M25 Rabat on clay, where he rallied from a first-set tiebreak loss. The Swiss player has posted consistent wins on the surface this summer, while the lower-ranked Italian (around 800–900) has shown mixed form in lower-tier events. Seeding in the Como draw further underscores Nikles’ edge in this best-of-three qualifier on outdoor clay.
