Taylor Fritz enters the Cincinnati Open fourth-round matchup as the clear favorite, holding the No. 9 ATP ranking and a 28-14 record in 2026 that includes a recent Washington title and solid 15-8 hard-court results. The American has advanced comfortably through his early rounds on the fast outdoor hard courts. Christopher O'Connell, ranked 129th and coming off qualifying, reached this stage after defeating Kamil Majchrzak, a Casper Ruud retirement, and a Joao Fonseca walkover, but faces a steep step up in competition. Head-to-head history and Fritz’s superior serve and baseline consistency on this surface further shape trader sentiment ahead of the August 19 encounter.
