This market will resolve to "Yes" if Jake "Boaster" Howlett officially announces his retirement from professional VALORANT play by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". To resolve "Yes", the announcement must clearly state that Boaster is retiring from professional VALORANT play as a player. Professional VALORANT play includes the VCT international leagues, VCT Challengers, and any other professional VALORANT competition; an announcement that Boaster is leaving a specific team or league while continuing to compete professionally elsewhere will not qualify. The announcement must come from Boaster himself or his official representatives. Announcements of a break, hiatus, benching, or move to an inactive roster will not qualify unless they clearly state that Boaster's departure from professional play is permanent. An announcement that Boaster is moving to a coaching, content, or other non-playing role will qualify only if it clearly states that he is retiring from professional play as a player. The retirement must be intended to take effect immediately or prior to the start of the next VCT season following the announcement. An announcement made in 2026 that is intended to take effect before the start of the 2027 VCT season will qualify. The qualifying announcement itself must be made by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Reporting or clarification published on or before January 14, 2027, 11:59 PM ET may be used to establish that a qualifying announcement was made within that window; a qualifying announcement first established after that time will not count. The primary resolution source for this market will be official statements from Boaster; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Boaster’s 50% implied probability reflects a tightly balanced outlook for the veteran Fnatic in-game leader entering the final months of his 2026 VCT contract. The 31-year-old re-signed in late 2025 for one additional season after a runners-up finish at VALORANT Champions 2025, publicly stating he will continue only while he remains a net positive to the roster and retains full motivation. His long tenure since 2021, combined with consistent roster stability and recent international results, supports traders assigning meaningful weight to an extension. At the same time, age-related considerations, the physical and mental demands of the VCT schedule, and the possibility that a title-winning campaign or personal milestone could prompt an end-of-year retirement announcement keep the “Yes” side equally viable. Any mid-season roster shakeup, performance dip, or official comments on post-2026 plans could quickly shift the market consensus.
