First-leg results have given strong favorites like Anderlecht (3-0 lead over Kairat), Jagiellonia Białystok (4-0 over Iberia 1999), and Red Star Belgrade (3-0 over Viktoria Plzeň) clear advantages heading into home or return fixtures. Key variables include aggregate scoring, away goals in some ties, squad rotation for midweek travel, and the impact of higher UEFA coefficients on favored sides.
