The Cincinnati Reds hold the strongest position in this market due to their league-leading ABS challenge success rate, consistently topping 63-64% through late summer per multiple tracking sources. Catchers like Tyler Stephenson have anchored the edge with win rates above 70% on high volumes of attempts, while selective strategy under manager Terry Francona emphasizes high-leverage spots and early adjustments to umpire zones. Other clubs trail notably, with mid-tier teams like the Diamondbacks and Tigers near 60% but lacking comparable catcher consistency or overall efficiency. Recent midseason data through August shows the Reds maintaining this advantage despite varying challenge volumes across the league, aligning with the pronounced pricing gap in trader consensus.
