Top performers advance through knockout stages under rapid time controls, with the top five ultimately securing spots in the EWC main event play-ins. Key drivers of outcomes include current Elo ratings, recent form in rapid and blitz formats, head-to-head records against similarly rated opponents, and group draw positioning. Early-round results from Day 1 pairings will heavily influence momentum, while factors such as rest between rounds, technical stability in the venue, and any late withdrawals among titled players could shift advancement probabilities. The large field creates a wide range of upset potential for lower-seeded competitors.
