Aleksandar Mitric, a left-handed Canadian with prior Princeton college experience and junior ITF ranking history, faces Hiroki Sakagawa, a UCI standout with strong dual-match results and recent Big West success, in an early-round matchup at the hard-court ITF M15 Champaign. Both players carry limited professional ITF exposure, with Mitric posting recent straight-set qualifying losses and Sakagawa dropping a prior M25 contest. The surface favors consistent baseline play and all-court movement, areas where their college pedigrees could translate, though neither holds an established ATP ranking or clear head-to-head edge. Schedule positioning and recovery from any travel will factor into readiness for this low-stakes pro event.
