Francesco Passaro and Felix Gill meet in the first round of 2026 US Open qualifying on outdoor hard courts, with no prior head-to-head record and near-identical rankings around 210-220. The Italian Passaro offers greater main-tour experience, higher career prize money, and ATP-level results earlier in the season, though his 2026 win rate sits near 48 percent amid a mixed clay-heavy schedule. British left-hander Gill posts a stronger overall career win rate above 63 percent and better year-to-date results, primarily at ITF and lower Challenger levels, with recent hard-court activity and noted edges in second-serve reliability. Both players enter after varied summer results, making serve consistency, return pressure, and adaptation to New York hard courts the primary variables in this opening qualifying encounter.
