The redrawn Ohio congressional map, finalized in late 2025, shifted the 13th District to a D+2 Cook Partisan Voting Index, bolstering incumbent Democratic Rep. Emilia Sykes's position after her prior narrow victory. Sykes faces Republican nominee Carey Coleman, who prevailed in the May 2026 GOP primary, but the district's Summit County core and surrounding areas have consistently favored Democratic candidates in recent cycles. Trader consensus reflected in the 93% Democratic odds aligns with nonpartisan ratings classifying the race as Lean or Likely Democratic, driven by incumbency advantages in fundraising, visibility, and structural map changes. Potential shifts could arise from a pronounced national Republican surge, unexpected turnout patterns in battleground suburbs, or late developments altering voter sentiment before November 3.
